A-Class Review

A-Class Hand-Built Wheels is located in Taiwan. The parent company that makes A-Class wheels is Alex Global Technology, Inc. The company was founded in 1992 when it began production of aluminum alloy rims. The goal from the inception of the company was to build outstanding wheel sets and by 2004 their wheels had been used to win a gold medal in the Summer Olympics. During their time in business, A-Class has won several industry awards and received numerous international patents. All of their wheels are built by hand and are hand tuned to within .02mm to ensure quality.

There are four specific areas of technology that the company focuses on in creating their wheel sets. These include rim technology, material technology, inner technology, and surface technology. The rim technology used by A-Class was developed by Dr. Chen, along with his research and development team, and took more than a year to perfect. The material used in the rims is Scandium Super Light which was designed to reduce weight and increase speed in the rims. Part of the inner technology that has been utilized focuses on wheel balance by welding joint rims. This feature is available in seventeen different products. The surface technology refers to the sidewalls of the wheel. The sidewalls are CNC machined to create a smoother sidewall in order to increase brake efficiency. This feature is available on the higher end wheel set models.

A-Class has six types of wheel sets that correspond to the types of cycling a rider may prefer. The needs of the cyclist are closely related to the terrain they will travel. There are several individual models within each type of wheel set. The six lines include Road Pro, MTB, Downhill, BMX, Cross Country, and Folding Bikes. They also have several wheel set accessories available. The company is still relatively small, but is gaining popularity among cyclists.
