Campagnolo Review

Tullio Campagnolo founded the Campagnolo company from a small shop in Vicenza Italy. Italy is known as the epicenter of the cycling world and many cycling enthusiasts believe the best bikes and parts remain Italian made. The line of Campagnolo parts is divided into groupsets. Each groupset is offered with varying parts that complement each other when assembled on the biker’s frame of choice.

Groupsets are offered complete with sprocket set, front derailleur, Ergopower controls, crankset, chain and rear derailleur. The groupsets available from Campagnolo include Super Record, Record, Chorus and Athena.

The most popular Campagnolo groupset is the Super Record. First introduced in 1973, Campagnolo is known for the extensive line of component parts included in the set. Twenty-one years after the first introduction, Campagnolo has re-released the groupset with state of the art parts and one of the most complete groupsets available in the cycling world.

The Campagnolo website offers in depth information and specifications on each of the cycling groupsets. While no products are available for sale directly from Campagnolo, Pro-Shops are available throughout the United States and the world owned and operated by Campagnolo authorized dealers. With no prices listed on the official website, consumers are left to visit these third party sites looking for pricing information. Many small bike shop sites do not even list Campagnolo as one of their brands.

Currently, Campagnolo parts are being sold in more than 20 countries. The parts, however, are not widely available. In North Carolina, for instance, only one bike shop is listed in the entire state as offering Campagnolo parts.

Campagnolo is a trusted name in Italian cycle design. Products are created using top of the line materials and the latest cycling technology. With these advanced processes, the consumer can expect to pay more for Campagnolo components than comparable brands. There are no Campagnolo frames available at this time, but frames may be a future endeavor for Campagnolo.They also have a line of apparel and gear.
