Assos is a company that manufactures accessories and clothes for cyclists. This company is based in Switzerland and was formed in the 1970s. This company was formed by Toni Maier-Moussa in the 1970s. He is currently the chairman of Assos. During this time, in the 1970s, Toni Maier-Moussa started to make carbon-based bike frames. At that time, carbon fibre was restricted to be used only on top secret aeronautical projects. As a result when Toni asked the Pentagon for to use carbon fibre on bikes there were sceptical.

These handlebars designed by Tony, the cow horn shaped handlebars, provided added resistance of the wind and hence increase the speed at which they could travel.
