To promote healthy living and environmental friendliness, Tucson is holding Bike to Work Week this week. Many businesses are participating by offering free giveaways and discounts, from food to bike repairs. In Tucson, about 10,000 residents bike to work at least once a week but the city is hoping to see an increase as gas prices continue to rise. Bicycling is growing in popularity in the U.S. and around the world. However, roadways remain congested and air quality continues to deteriorate, thereby sparking events like Bike to Work Week in Tucson. On Friday there will be a celebration at Maynard’s Market featuring a wholesome breakfast.
