Bike cranksets are made of several bike parts and gears. The crank arms are basically the longer metal that connects pedals to the spindle or axle. The left and right crank arms are attached permanently to the bike’s spindle. The star-shaped projections that can be found in the crank composed the spider. Without the spider, the chainring will not be in place. The bottom bracket shell is where the main spindle and bearings are attached and accepted. The bike bottom brackets assembly, on the other hand is composed of several parts including the drive spindle, bearings and cups. Without the bottom bracket assembly, pedals or road bike pedals cannot rotate as they should.

In buying bike cranksets, the buyer must see to it that it is compatible with his/her bike. Just in case, he wants to customize it, there are brands like FSA, Shimano, SRAM and Truvativ proven to give maximum performance. Shimano’s carbon fiber Dura-Ace crankset series is said to be very rigid with its aluminum and carbon combination but amazingly lightweight.  FSA bike cranksets are also said to be compatible with other brands like Shimano and SRAM. Truvativ XX Crankset is also a new invention from Truvativ with its unique optimized bolt diameters, reconstructed shift ramps, pins and chain ring of bike cranksets.
