Giant has been around for over three decades and has maintained its position among the top mountain bike producers in the world. With the latest offering in their Trance series, the Trance Advanced, Giant has created arguably the best mountain bike for the trail-riding set. Why “best mountain bike for the trail-riding set?” The Trance Advanced not only has a more than generous 4.2 inches of suspension travel but it also handles superbly and possesses a competitive cross-country weight, making this mountain bike more than a single-purpose rig.
Giant owns its own carbon facility. This allows them to be a major part of the building process and the quality of this mountain bike shows that they are on their game. The Trance Advanced is different from other models in their mountain bike line in that its frame is made from formulaOne T800 carbon. This is usually reserved for team-edition road bikes and enables Giant to achieve low weight, stiffness, and a very high-quality ride. While the frame is impressive, the Advanced line of mountain bikes also has great additional features such as a Maestro-equipped suspension coupled with a carbon suspension rocker, carbon dropouts, titanium shock hardware, XTR cranks and front derailleur, SRAM X.0 shifters and rear derailleur and Race Face stem, bar and seatpost. Add to that race-proven Mavic Crossmax SL wheels and Avid Juicy Carbon disc brakes and the Trance Advanced is a truly exceptional mountain bike.
The Giant Trance Advanced is a longer-travel XC bike but it is more than capable of blazing new off-road trails and climbing the highest mountaintop with ease.
