ALPHA Q’s CX 20 Carbon Cyclocross Fork has been perfected after almost 3 years.
Since 1994 Alpha Q has been committed to making some of the finest quality hand crafted carbon fiber forks, stems, handlebars, and seat posts on the planet and the new CX 20 Cyclocross Fork is no exception. The CX 20 starts with their patented and race proven “Carbon Rooting Technology” to ensure even distribution of fiber throughout the forks construction. It’s now 70 grams lighter than the last model weighing in at a minuscule 450 grams, that’s less than 1lb. uncut. The weight shaved will be good news for those shouldered dismounts all to common in cyclocrossing.
The CX 20 features 47mm titanium cantilever lugs for breaking strength, CAD modeled crown for less flex and redesigned fork span for ample mud clearance to help ensure a clog free ride. The larger fork dropouts on this model decrease torsion flexing making for a better handling straighter tracking fork.
One thing to note, the alloy steerer tube insert must be epoxied in for the warranty to remain intact. That means no compression plugs if you want to maintain Alpha Q’s 3 year warranty and crash replacement program. Also once glued in and trimmed you’ve only got about 2cm of adjustment, so initial setup is worth a little extra time.
If your looking for a great cyclocross fork the Alpha Q CX 20 can be yours for about $570.00 US.
